Sometimes, you need to do something big to permanently reduce stress in the longer-term future. Such big moves should be thought over very carefully, but they can often be very valuable.

  • An unsuitable place of residence 

Getting out of any of these can be really tough. But if you’ve tried everything else and still experience unhealthy stress levels as a result of your permanent stressor, such a big move could be worthwhile.

The grass is always greener on the other side. In other words, you should put in plenty of thought and research to make sure that your life will genuinely be better after your big move.

If you just want out at any cost, you can easily end up jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.

Taking the plunge will be tough, but there’s no need to make it any harder than it needs to be. Plan carefully and execute everything by the book to ensure that things go as smoothly as possible. 

Making a big move not only takes up a lot of mental resources, but also a lot of time. So be sure to give up some other responsibilities to give yourself a fair shot at making your move stick.
